In today’s modern transport industry with its ever increasing fuel, insurance and maintenance costs, we recognise the importance of drivers doing their part in helping to reduce these costs, by driving in a more defensive and fuel efficient way.

Drivers also play a very important part in how clients view your company overall -
They are in fact ambassadors, providing the first point of contact to your customers. If the deliveries are preformed in a smooth professional manner, then this has an ongoing impression allowing both yourselves and your clients to benefit from the investment of training your drivers.

In fast moving and high pressured transport operation like your own, we have to accept that training has to fit in and around your scheduling. So with this in mind we have put together a three tier training and assessment programme.

Tier 1 - This consists of a one hour basic driving assessment, highlighting any weakness found with the driver. Discussing any further training required to improve the drivers situation. In the past when companies have implementing this, they have found it a useful tool in assessing both agency and full time staff.

Tier 2 - This is a two hour session, comprising of a one hour driving assessment followed by one hour post training. This tier has proven to be useful when following up an assessment from Tier 1 when the drivers driving have highlighted possible problems. In conjunction with the information from their assessment report attempting to rectify any concerns within the time frame allowed.

Tier 3 - This tier provides the most comprehensive overview of a driver. Furnishing you with a complete driver profile comprising of: - Attitude to driving, other road users, vehicle sympathy and how they carry out their daily duties.
This assessment takes either four hours, or the time the driver takes to complete their shift.

The aim of all three tiers is to improve the drivers’ approach and abilities to their daily duties. Improving customer service and at the same time reducing transport cost through reduction in usage of fuel and down time of vehicles.
